The basket It has very beautiful and intricate weaving details and showcases a rounded body and a squared, fixed handle at the top. Adorned with floral patterns of peony buds and blooms, a bird, and other decorative elements on its surface. Designed in the typical form for a “Guo Da Li” ceremony, this Chinese betrothal or marriage basket is painted with traditional motifs featuring peony buds and blooms. GUO DA LI CEREMONY: The Guo Da Li ceremony, a crucial Chinese betrothal tradition, signifies the formal meeting between the two families. Taking place a few weeks before the wedding, the groom presents various gifts in the basket, symbolizing his sincerity in marrying the bride and ensuring her well-being after marriage.
