Set 4 Vintage Bavarian China Plates With Vegetables

Lovely set of 4 vintage china porcelain plates made in Bavaria, Germany by Bareuther Waldsassen featuring art depicting green vegetables: Cabbage, Cucumber, Paprika Pepper, and Savoy Cabbage. The quality of the drawings is highly detailed in the manner of antique botanical studies. The china itself is soft white, and the decoration is a medium dark green.

All four plates are in excellent condition and appear to have only ever been used for display in a china cabinet. Would be a nice grouping to hang on the wall too. No wear to the designs, no chips nor cracks, no crazing, no blemishes whatsoever. Bareuther was a maker of fine porcelain dinnerware so I would assume these to be food safe as well. They are ideally sized for salad or dessert. Vegetable names are noted on verso in English and German. Diameter of each plate measures 7.75″ across. Circa 1970s-1980s. After a long history dating to the late 19th C, Bareuther went out of business in 1994.
