Classic Gunma kokeshi crafted by the renowned Sansaku Sekiguchi. This kokeshi features hand-carved motifs of a faded dandelion.
Dimensions: height 14 cm, diameter 7 cm. Stamped at the bottom by the artist.
Sansaku Sekiguchi was born in 1925 and is the sole certified Master of Creative Kokeshi by the Japanese government.
He even has his own museum in Gunma. He has won numerous awards, including the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award three times! H
is kokeshi dolls are among the most popular and sought after by collectors worldwide, making them highly valuable.
Sekiguchi-San passed away in 2018.
